Excellent book for a serious artist. The one thing I appreciate most it how well its written, the language is accessible, clear and engaging. There is a common downfall to a lot of books about artist materials and technique- lots of empty and meaningless words or difficult by: This is a clearly written and easy to understand little book on the materials and techniques of Medieval painting.
